Odessa hosting a seminar for Jewish educators from the whole Ukraine

On June 2 - 5, 2016 WJC held a seminar “Pearls of Yiddish Culture” for 30 teachers who arrived in Odessa from all parts of Ukraine.

Yiddish seminar for Israeli teachers held in Odessa

On May 29 – 31, 2016 a seminar “Pearls of Yiddish Culture” for 30 teachers from all parts of the State of Israel took place in Odessa, Ukraine.

Yiddish pearls for “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies

On May 9 – 11, 2016 the Yiddish seminar for 14 instructors from “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies took place in Vilnius. It was organized in cooperation with that Institute, which was the first time working with them and hopefully not the last.

Lecture about Litvak writers

Forwarding the common project of WJC YC and Vilnius Jewish Public library, on June 2, 2016 the academical director of the Yiddish Center at the World Jewish Congress, Dr. Mordehay Yushkovsky, delivered a lecture "Litvaks and their literary creations".

"Limmud-Belarus-2016" in Minsk, follow-up in Babruisk

On May 13-15, 2016 an international educational forum "Limmud-Belarus-2016" took place in Minsk. Representatives of the WJC YC, Yitzhak Averbukh and Marina Yakubovich (see the picture), participated in its work.

Metzuda program for young Jewish leaders in Stoŭbcy, Belarus

On May 5 - 10, 2016 the Metzuda program for young Jewish leaders from all over Belarus took place in the town of Stoŭbcy, Belarus. WJC Yiddish center was represented by Dr. Natalia Rindyuk from Kiev-Mogiliyanskaya academy (Ukraine), who delivered two lectures.

WJC participating in Moscow 'Limmud'

WJC YC took part in Limmud Moscow in April 13 – 17, 2016 following numerous requests of the organizers, who had participated in our workshops in Vilnius. Approximately 90 participants from Russia and other countries, mostly youngsters, attended the sessions at the pension house "Klyazma" near Moscow.

Sholom-Aleychem honored in Kiev, JWC YC taking part

In 12 – 14 May, 2016 WJC YC took part in a huge event in Kiev, dedicated to 100th Anniversary of the greatest Yiddish writer Sholem-Aleychem's death. These celebrations were organized together with the Jewish Foundation of Ukraine and aroused great interest among both Jewish and Ukrainian audiences.
