As for the beginning of this common project, on 29 March 2016 the academical director of the Yiddish Center at the World Jewish Congress, Dr. Mordehay Yushkovsky, delivered a lecture "What Yiddish has to say in the XXI century". The event took place in Vilnius Jewish Public Library and gathered 30 participants, among them representatives of Lithuanian cultural and media circles.

Whenever our seminars for teachers with lecturers from abroad take place in Vilnius, an open seminar "Pearls of Yiddish Language and Culture" for people, who are just interested in Yiddish culture, will be also held in the Lithuanian capital.

Jewish Public Library continues the tradition in accumulation of books which reflects valuable Jewish history, art, religion and science, also promotes cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue between the city communities using library for art exhibitions, presentations of books, conferences, discussions, lectures and other educational and cultural events. We are sure this cooperation will bring broad public closer to the Yiddish culture and the Jewish community.
