On January 26, 2017 a seminar "Pearls of Yiddish culture" was held at the Jewish community center "Beit-Dan" in the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine. This event can be considered a follow-up of another seminar which took place there in November 2016.

However, this time the lectures were destined not only for "Beit-Dan" program coordinators and other personnel, but also for their colleagues from the community center "Sha'arei Hesed".

Before about 45 people, the academic director of WJC International Yiddish Center, Dr. Mordechay Yushkovsky gave two talks: "Yiddish culture as a treasury of our collective national memory" and "Yiddish Culture in the former USSR, its impetuous development and tragic ruin".

The audience asked the lecturer a lot of questions, revealing considerable interest in the subjects discussed.
