On October 24, 2017, the academic director of WJC International Yiddish Center, Dr. Mordechay Yushkovsky provided 2 lectures at the Odessa ORT school for its students and teachers.

This seminar was initiated by the school principal Svetlana Manchenko, whose subordinates were among the participants of our seminar previous year in Vilnius. Inspired by our seminar, those teachers recommended to hold something similar in their own institution, and thanks to Mis Manchenko's efforts that proposal has been realized.

Dr. Yushkovsky lectured on the following topics: "What Yiddish has to say in 21th century" and "Odessa in Yiddish literature and folklore". According to the feedback of the listeners, the lectures efficiently filled the gaps in their knowledge of Yiddish culture and supplied them the material to share with their pupils.
